Design
The Columbia-Staver service is completely flexible: our design services can be retained separately, or as part of our comprehensive service. Our highly qualified and experienced design team can meet every requirement, from tooling - such as progression, draw, pierce and blank - to special designs for the fine blanks multi-slide, multi-stage, transfer and lamination tools. We can also advise on component design, assembly methods, helping customers find the most cost-effective way to manufacture. Our drawings, where required, can be produced to customer specification. They are fully detailed and always drawn with ease of manufacture in mind.

Key to this sophistication is our investment in advanced CAD/CAM systems. These enable our designers to work in three dimensions utilising the formidable resources of modern computers for repeat details, modifications, formulae, and ’what if?’ experiments - all carried out on screen before production work begins. Previous designs can be memorised, so updates and modifications are quick and simple to execute; and because the design component is linked to our manufacturing facilities, the job can be completed with traditional Columbia-Staver accuracy - faster than ever before.
